IV. Seeing Glory Face to Face: Powerfully Unveiled
By Christine S., T4TL Ministry
*Get a great start with prayer.* Looking at the New Covenant, lets turn
to I
John 5: 1, 4-5. In specific, let’s look at the power declared in verses
four and five. When we are subject to the new ministry or new covenant, we believe
in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and become children of God. As children
of God we have inherited the power to overcome the world (not in a physical or
political sense). What are characteristics of the world? Sin, pain, fear, biterness,
death.
Check out the following Scriptures:
Romans 3:23, 6:23, Matthew 10: 28
Jesus humbled Himself to a life and death at the lowest level on earth. He
came that we may be set free from our sins and in freedom from sins, be set
free from death. He came to set us free of fears and the painful cycles that
are result to the schemes of the devil.
This does not eliminate the weaknesses, but it encourages to seek after the
strength and perfection that is attainable through Christ. It is one step to
realize how vulnerable we are (as Moses did), but it another step to do something
about the realizations of our inadequacies. Christ is offering a hope for us
to be bold and complete. In 2 Corinthians 2:9-10 Paul writes, “But he
said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect
in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses
so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s
sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in
difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” It could also be
said, when I find myself so poor and needy, I am strong because Christ can
work where my pride is inexistent and soul is reaching out for help.
Look up Ephesians 5:1 and record what it has to say:
